Custom Fire Table: A Thoughtful Approach to Outdoor Living

Our clients envisioned a fire table that would serve their family in multiple ways—not just as an outdoor focal point, but as a functional dining space where six people could comfortably gather for meals.

I listened, then designed accordingly. The result was a dual-purpose table with dimensions 6’ x 3’ that accommodate full-size dinner plates, seamlessly transitioning from family dinners to cozy evenings around the fire.

The frame combines reclaimed wood with new cedar, creating a piece that's both sustainable and built to last. But what truly reflects our approach is how we handled their concerns about placement and fuel source.

Rather than pushing for a permanent solution immediately, I installed a dual-fuel burner system. This gave our clients the flexibility to use propane during their first year—allowing them to perfect the table's location on their deck before committing to a permanent natural gas line installation. It's a practical solution that respects both their budget and their desire to make informed decisions.

The concrete top was custom made and color-match to their existing outdoor BBQ station countertop, ensuring visual continuity across their outdoor living space.

This is how I work: understanding not just what you want, but why you want it—and building solutions that give you confidence in your investment, one thoughtful decision at a time.
